The origin of grape is unsure believed to be brought around 11th century from North Africa. Reaching area of 25.309 ha (2022).

Description: Small-Medium size bunches, Very compact with small leaves, Highly resistant to dry conditions, Easy-Adapt to different terrains, Medium-Late ripening period, Yellow color with green touch.

Profile: Dry, Medium-High acidity, Light Body, Low tannins, Lower alcohol content.

Aromas: Very aromatic, Flavor of tropical fruits – Lime, Grapefruit, White Peach, white flowers and herbs, Feels very dry.

Main Regions: Most emblematic region is D.O. Rueda in Castilla León. Even widely cultivated in southern part of Castilla León, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha.

Other Regions: Smaller quantities are cultivated in Murcia, Catalonia and Asturias. Outside the Spain can be found in Portugal and Australia.

Blending: Most common blending partner is Sauvignon Blanc and less even Chardonnay.
