The long history of Iberian Peninsula left us plenty of exceptional archaeological sites vastly spread over the whole country.
Starting during the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Age of Neolithic, there are many caves, dolmens and original pottery well preserved until now.
Caves of Altamira (Cuevas de Altamira) located in the northern part of Cantabria and under the UNESCO Heritage, or Cave of the Pool (Cueva de la Pileta) in Málaga Province are highly appreciated for their impressive wall paintings dating Upper Paleolithic Era.
Another jewel is Atapuerca, an archaeological site located near historical city of Burgos in the province of the same name. Both exceptional places to be enjoyed.
The dolmens, megalithic constructions are hugely spread since Neolithic times around the whole Europe and in Spain can be tracked around the whole country. If there would be a need to highlight any, then the Dolmens of Antequera called Menga, Viera in proper city of Antequera and El Romeral which is located nearby on the hill, all three under the UNESCO Heritage since 2016, are the best preserved dolmens not in Spain only, but probably around the World.
